David Elson is a dedicated knee surgeon with a sub specialist interest in joint preserving (biological) knee surgery. He has been an NHS consultant in Gateshead, UK for six years. He trained in the North East of England with UK fellowships in Cardiff and Hampshire.
As a fellow he was the driving force behind the establishing the United Kingdom Knee Osteotomy Registry. UKKOR was established to improve patient outcomes from knee osteotomy as an alternative to knee replacement in arthritic knee conditions. David has served on the Quality Outcomes Committee of the British Orthopaedic Association, the execuutive committee of the British Association for Knee Surgery and is now the secreatry and Treasurer for the Biological Knee Society He has experience in all aspects of knee surgery including cruciate ligament reconstruction, re-alignment osteotomy, cartilage restoration, meniscal repair and transplantation. He performs approximatey 250 knee operations each year. |
